And it happened again, I can't escape it and I saw it coming.

First off, I joined a 7/8 team. Our last guy had been gone crafting a cons set for a while when I joined; I think 10 or 15 minutes passed before he came back... starting from the moment I entered the team.

A bit before entry, a guy said he had to "brb 1 min". I think you guys see it coming too. 5 minutes in UW... not back. 10 minutes... "why isn't he back yet?" 15 minutes: "okay he's a leecher". By the 20 mark no one cares anymore.

The group isn't so exp, except the terra, but some of the ursans actually listen fairly well. One of our monks is running 2 15/-1 sets and has energy problems (the SB) but I have no problems with the other HB - it's with the ursans I have a problem with. NO ONE takes up leading, except every now and then a guy pulls back to us monks when the ursans should be rushing in, and another one rushes when we should be pulling.

We wiped at around 35 minutes in (not 25 - we had used a cons set... yeah they're not very fast and we have a leecher); we were on our way to chaos planes after doing a couple quests. No one is taking lead, so I am - this pretty much bit me in the ass though. I run, past the obsidian behemoths like I usually do, then I see the charged blacknesses. I turn back... but not my ursans, who all walked into traps and get killed by chargeds.

One guy escapes... the wrong way. He got killed by chargeds as well.

We wipe, no one is mad - not even me - but then I see the leecher... moving. So all this time he HAD been leeching, probably sitting at his screen WATCHING US since at the MOMENT we spawned in ToA he started moving. Being annoyed (I hate leechers, if you can't work for your stuff don't bother playing this game, 'cause I'm not doing it for you), I said something like "nice to see we had a leacher in our team".

Called me childish for the next part, but the ending is personally rewarding: I have the guy targeted and I see him moving. I click on storage (lose current target) and I see his name being dark blue - he's now in a team. "Hey, whoever has <name> in your team, good luck. He just leeched our run." Click merchant, click the guy again... he's now teamless.

I grinned IRL.

Leechers in FoW/UW are horrible agreed.

I ended up in two UW teams yesterday where people tried the teleporting till the drops are unclaimed. With little success to say but it was annoying as hell.

I dont think ive had a overly bad experince with pugging, if you pug you come to expect that its not going to be perfect.

I play my monk rarely and i can only think of a couple of times when playing one when having a overly ambitions wammo and a agro friendly ele saying something along the lines of

'guys if you keep running off or over agroing i wont heal you'

simple as that...

lol, glad you got him back. Just curious, did his name start with Bob....? I've had problems in the past in TOA with a leech by that name.

Nope, unless it's another of his characters. Could track him down with the f-list though.

Hell I wish I could post names sometimes. I won't post the FULL name, but only three letters too: Hun... I have the guy in my f-list ATM, gonna watch if he switches to a Bob, just for the heck of it.

Oh BTW this doesn't work in 90% of the cases. They still aggro and go "if u cant keep up wif me u suck, nub". Or worse; doing it more so they piss you off.

OOOH I just remembered another story. I'm about to make a journal out of those failures...

A buddy (MrSlayer) and I are doing a spider run for some random ranger. He asks if we can get him an elder one, so we explain him that the spawns are random and that's something we can't do anything about. If he really wants an elder, we're ready to do the next run(s) at a lower price - we offer 7k each for the initial run, and 6k per next runs. Guy agrees, buddy checks on cash; he's got it, we're good to go.

We do the run - the guy is very cooperative and chats with us despite his poor English. When we complete the quest, we use the reaper to get him to us. It's a hearty spider, but he's willing to take it anyways, as he's charming it. He then walks to MrSlayer... and logs off. Well that's what I see on my screen.

Over vent:
Me: Did he pay you? 'Cause he didn't pay me...
MrSlayer: ... He just logged. He put 7k in trade and logged.
Both: .... bastard, ****ing scammer, add other insults.

Probably not the same guy. I had "Bob" in my friends list for awhile as well and I saw him on many different characters but they all had a variation of the bob word in it. (Bob was not the full word)

I mentioned him because I got the impression that he was a "professional leecher" if such a thing is possible. He joined us on a FOW run and actually participated until we cleared the way to the forge. When we started down the hill to pick up the shard wolf quest he ran to the edge of the spider cave and stayed there. At that point he said "brb 1 min". We completed the spider cave and waited around a bit for him to return. He didn't and we moved on.

As we were clearing we were also discussing returning and luring some pop-ups over to kill him, but we discovered later that as soon as we moved off radar range he moved to the forgemaster and stayed there. We were unable to kill him since there were no enemies in the forge. He was also whispering to us taunting us that we couldn't kill him.

That's the only time I've encountered a leech though in FOW. Most of my bad pugs have been simple unprepared players.
- Leader zones in before everyone's ready. Monk's bar isn't set. Ranger didn't buy keys and leaves.
- No one bothers to check skillbars and 10 minutes later we discover our W/E brought Endure Pain and 7 PBAoE fire skills.
- little kiddies that inevitably ask "how long is this gonna take???" after we finish The Tower of Courage. "Well mommy says i haveto get off the computer in 5 min"
- No patience. A wammo overaggros. 2 people die and the monk rages. "WHATT???? I'M NOT PLAYING WITH NOOBS!!! BYE!!!!" 3 more people leave because one of the monks left and it's obviously hopeless now. The 4 remaining players quickly fall apart because of too many quitters and it's over.

*I went to get the Fanta and when I came back, I realized I am close to the ice imps and by the time I sat down they got into my aggro I ran. The other monk however wasn't paying attention. He going all of the blast from the ice imps and I am safe. He tries to run with the slow. He dies.*
Monk: WTF u noob!
Me: My bad
MonK: WTF all of that work, wasted!
Me: Ur getting surviver?
Monk: gg
Me: Sorry, I wasn't paying attention
Monk: Omg, I was 1/2 way to rank 2
Me: I'm very sorry, I tried to heal u
Monk: omg, why did you do that?
Me: I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention
Monk: Yeah right
Me: Sorry, there was nothing that I could do. S*** happens, sorry, something similar happened to me.
Monk: yeah right
Me: Besides, you would have died anyway in 2nd zone. (This is the 12 year old part, not blaming me for my mistakes. Plus I was wrong about dieing in 2nd zone. I did a 12 year old thing at 17. Happens to all)
*I go on explaining that my sin was 100,000 exp from rank 2. My guildy dies while farming trolls and the trolls came after me and I lost surviver etc. The monk doesn't seem to listen. I was trying to comfort.*

In the end: The conversation lasts the entire run. (Mainly, the U will die in 2nd Zone, I can't believe that I backed that up.) I still feel bad to this day, could of, would of, should of. Thats all I could do, reflect. If the monk is reading this now... sorry. (I was the noob.)

(Note, Factions just came out, I got factions 2 months after it's release. Also, you didn't have load/save. They showed the skills just by words. They recently did the necromancer update. (Limit: 10 minions))

The monk Pinged his/her bar. He/she is a protect monk

Me: Can you go fire ele?
Ele: No, ice is good
Me: Ice sucks compared to fire
Monk: No it doesn't
Me: Says the protect monk
Monk: What is that suppose to mean?
Me: Can you go healer?
Monk: Yes, but I don't have the runes.
Me:That would do, ele go fire
Ele: No, this build is good
Me: No it's not, ice is worse that earth
*The ele and monk left. I whispered them both Noob*
I did my fair share of 12 yr old stuff in the past.
1) I didn't blame me for my mistake
2) I wanted people to play the way I want them to play
3) I called people noobs

I was doing Moddok Crevice NM (last one for elonian protector title) with a pug, and we were doing ok, they were a bit n00bish, but I had been going at the mission several times and was leading the way, when the paragon goes something like "you all don't have a clue, you're all going to fail" and promptly ragequitted just before the runners. We then managed to do the last suggestion and get masters.

The group were going back to the mission town to see if they were still LFG-ing, but i decided to go to HOM to put the title up instead.

I dont think its so much 12 year olds that are annoying,

I think its people that you dont know, meet in pugs or running groups, that try and tell you how to play when they are actually really, really bad.

Like the person telling me I should be using Radient Insignia on all my armor and that I need to kill myself to stop the runner lagging. When I said 'no, im going for survivor, sorry' they then tryed to lure as much crap onto me as they could. When they died trying to lure them to me they decided to put me on ignore and send me loads of abuse.

I lol'ed and they rage quit the run.

the other day I was just doing my normal thing monking in RA.....

I got a group

at our 3rd or so fight.

our Sin and Rit where at one side of the map and our Necro goes all the way to the other side

Necro; Omg noob monk cant even heal me

me; how the hell am i suppose to heal you if you run off to the other side of the map??

Necro; I was cripple so i had to run away from you
necro; stupid noob

me; Ohh.. im a noob. I think a Necro with Flesh golem and MM only skills in RA is kinda noobie dont you think??

In RA a few million times on my sin, somehow I'm noob for kill them too fast, or if I don't attack because I have anti-melee hexes/blind on me. After they die they call me noob and somehow its usually the monk.

I love this thread. Entertainment from seeing what others go through... and tell myself that I'm not the only one getting idiots in teams.

Here goes what I have for today:

UW run, speed clear. We're having problems, our terras kept dying at bad spots, then the perma-sins, and given others are in their mobs and can't be teleported... well we have to leave OUR spots and res. We're on our 2nd cons set and the group is annoyed.

While we went to res one of the terras, who was clearing planes, one of the monks hit traps by mistake. The other monk didn't stop to heal and we saw him degen, and degen... he lived through, but still. You see someone in trouble not too far from you, you heal. No?

Monk 1: Dude why didn't heal me?
Monk 2: no response whatsoever
Monk 1: Whatever... let's just move on.

We reach the terra, res him, and we notice the sin has followed us instead of going to do his quest. He steals the aggro off the other terra, who then dies. Aggro breaks, terra is pissed. Sin is laughing and goes back to his quest.

We do Demon Slayer without problems (in fact we got good spawns) and more deaths happens. We're now out of cons... right before 4 horsemen. We're about to resign when...

Monk 2: maybe i have a set but i dont wanna use cuz the other monk was a *****.
Monk 1: What? You're calling me names while you couldn't even heal me just to help??
Monk 2: w/e. maybe i dont have cons at all then.

/facepalm.

We failed quest. Fastest group I've EVER seen disbanding.
